Manufactured from a plant-based biopolymer, these Tree Guards offer the highest environmental credentials available and the most sustainable solution for protecting your trees during their establishment period. Not only are these Tree Guards GM-free but also act as a carbon store resulting in a Carbon Negative product.
The Tree Guards can be recycled but will alternatively completely biodegrade over time through the combined action of microorganisms, temperature and humidity into nutrient-rich compost.
Each Tree Guard comes with a unique interlocking modular design making them very easy to set up. The design also incorporates a reinforcing double-layer alongside the stake position to resist any abrasion.
Ventilation flaps can also be pulled open to increase the airflow and control the climate to help acclimatise young trees in their establishment. These vents also protect against grazing and minimise the risk of accidental herbicide penetration.
To enhance growing conditions, each of our Tree Guards come with modular enclosures to insulate vulnerable saplings from extreme temperatures and increased air moisture resulting in less water stress and better brought tolerance. The brown finish provides shade from intense sunlight and will enhance tree growth.
Installation:
- Each Tree Guard is supplied as a flat sheet. When setting up your Guards, the sheets can be wrapped around the shelter before fastening or can be pre-assembled before sliding over the tree.
- Tubes can also be re-opened at any time making it easy for them to be reused or collected for recycling.
- With its interlocking modular construction, you are able to create 60, 90, 120,150 and 180cm high tubes with just two tube heights.
