Workers all over the world are exposed to excessive levels of the noise in their workplaces. Many suffer hearing loss, tinnitus and other conditions that permanently impair long term hearing. The Control of Noise at Work Regulation 2005 came into force in Great Britain in 2006. The overriding aim of the regulation is to protect workers’ hearing from excessive and dangerous noise in the workplace. The regulation states that those who are working with noise levels between 80dB and 85dB must be provided with suitable hearing protection on request. Where noise levels are equal or greater than 85dB, hearing protection must be supplies and worn.
These clip-on ear protectors fit on the Arrow Safety Helmet and provides the wearer with protection against dangerous noises without isolating the wearer. Suitable for all working environments and industries. Can be placed into the standoff position to keep the earmuffs away from the ears when not required.
They are tested and certified to the following standards:
- EN 352-3 (SNR 26dB) – British Standard SNR 26dB provided sufficient protection against 100dB noise level.
- ANSI S3.19 (22dB) – American National Standards Institute measure the noise level protection to be 22dB.
