Edge Protection Barrier

SafeEdge is a simple to install edge protection system that is vital for contractors to operate safely at height. Our edge protection barriers come in a range of sizes & heights. There are also several different fixings available to allow you to install our edge protection posts in a variety of ways, depending on your site.

Dimensions:

Length - 1300mm or 2600mm

The panels overlap so your post centers that hold your barriers are most commonly places 2400mm apart, center to center

Height - 1150mm (extra height panel available for 2600mm barriers)

The SafeEdge barrier has two primary purposes, the first is to create a temporary fence around the perimeter of a working area to keep the workforce safe from accidentally falling. Often on high rise building projects, when the core structure is being built, there are no external walls. Therefore in order to work safely, a temporary fencing system is required to help prevent accidents and keep the workforce safe. The edge protection system is most commonly placed around the perimeter of the building shell, hence being commonly called edge protection, as it is normally installed on the edges of the building. Depending on the structure of the building & type of construction this edge protection system can be fitted to the scaffolding, the steel work or installed into or onto the edge of the concrete slab.

SafeEdge barriers are installed on each floor of a new project to allow work to take place simultaneously across a number of floors at a much faster speed, safe in the knowledge the workforce is protected.

The second purpose of the SafeEdge edge protection system is to stop materials and debris from leaving the worksite & falling. The mesh barriers will stop large items from rolling or falling, but we have also added a kickplate to the bottom of the SafeEdge barrier to ensure that smaller debris is stopped from escaping underneath the barrier. By installing the SafeEdge barrier around the perimeter you can keep the workforce safe both on the floor the barrier is installed & below.

The SafeEdge barrier is simply fixed to the edge protection posts, which slit into a variety of different bases. There is also a fixing clip that can be placed at different heights on the posts to help to lock the SafeEdge barrier safely in place.

All of our SafeEdge barrier systems are rigorously tested and meet all British Standards & industry requirements, meaning you can ensure that your workforce is safe & your business is compliant. Our SafeEdge edge protection systems are also commonly used with our safety harness systems in order to install them and alongside catchfans to make working at height as safe as possible to the workforce and civilians.

SafeEdge barriers are most commonly available in blue, although we do normally also stock white and red barriers. We can powder coat these edge protection barriers & add company stickers to the barriers at an additional cost & slightly longer lead time.
