Refuelling Spill Mat

Designed to be used when refueling generators or other machinery this smart polymer spill mat ensures hydrocarbons such as oil, fuel and water are kept within the spill mat and cause no leaks. Perfect for use in the construction and building industry, this spill mat is used to capture any leaks from refueling generators and can be used to clean up spills of chemical and hazardous nature.

Working efficiently by solidifying oil and fuel into solid rubber, due to its smart polymer technology when caught onto the spill mat the smart polymer technology captures the hydrocarbons by reacting to the spill and converting them into an insoluble rubber-like substance which is trapped in the mat. Once converted the solidified contaminants will not leak out at all even when jet-washed or by rainfall.

Compared to traditional spill mats, nappies and trays which absorb and leak spills like a sponge and require liners, this refueling spill mat doesn’t act like a sponge and does not use liners. The problem with using liners is that often these liners will fill with oily rainwater which is classed as hazardous waste. As this plant spill pad doesn’t use liners and instead converts the waste into solid rubber there is no overflow of oily rainwater and no hazardous waste produced.

With a lifespan of many years, the refueling spill mat can be safely washed when muddy, ensuring none of the retained contaminants will be washed out. Even when hung on the side of equipment no retained contaminants are drained out. Once used up, the spill mat can be safely disposed of in a standard hazardous waste container. The polymers of the spill mat are non-toxic, non-carcinogenic and have no special COSHH requirements.
